Our summers are the slower part of the year, but we’ve still managed to be busy somehow.
Each year, we collaborate with the NAACP as well as the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (AEAONMS) for their business meetings.
NAACP gave us the privilege of handling their Resolutions Meeting for the fourth time, where the national association sets their priorities for the fights they charge forward with for years to come.
AEAONMS transitioned to wireless electronic voting for the first time last year. Before that, they used a very tedious method of lines of computers where thousands of voters cast their ballot for the candidates they wanted to win in the elections.
Both events were a resounding success, as TownVOTE voting system and keypads captured the votes of thousands of delegates at a record pace.
The NAACP convened in Charlotte, North Carolina from July 12th-16th, marking our fourth collaboration with this historic organization. With this year’s motto being, “The Fierce Urgency of Now” we once again had our hands full, counting the ballots of over 1,000 voters and over 60 motions and amendments. Replacing a longstanding tradition of “show of hands” and paper ballots, utilizing TownVOTE has continued to greatly improve the speed and accuracy of the association’s group voting sessions. Gone are the days of trying to visually determine a result of particularly contentious votes, as TownVOTE instantly recorded and tallied each voting member’s response onscreen in real-time. With the guesswork being eliminated, the NAACP had no need for paper ballots – they achieved a fast, clear result every time.

The AEAONMS convened at the NOLA Convention Center from August 17th-20th, collaborating with Meridia for the second time during their 132nd Imperial Council session. The Order utilized TownVOTE to elect new members; a traditionally lengthy process. Before switching to electronic voting, members had to wait in line to vote individually. This resulted in a lengthy, bloated meeting where the bulk of the time was spent waiting for the votes to be processed. And if there was a tie, or a runoff, they had to repeat the process in the same, lengthy manner.
The new system supports their various weighted voting requirements and eliminated this issue completely, allowing members to vote simultaneously right from their seats with just a button press and if a runoff was necessary, they were able to vote again in a matter of a few seconds.
